I started at the Red Beach, named for its striking red volcanic sand. The contrast between the red cliffs and the turquoise waters was absolutely mesmerizing. After a refreshing swim, I headed to Perissa Beach, where I relaxed on the black sand and enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch at a beachside taverna. In the afternoon, I visited the ancient ruins of Akrotiri, a Minoan Bronze Age settlement that was preserved in volcanic ash. Walking through the well-preserved ruins, I felt like I had stepped back in time. It was fascinating to see the advanced architecture and learn about the history of this ancient civilization.
