Oxford University Museum of Natural History
Nestled within the university is a museum that houses a fascinating collection of natural history specimens, including some truly extraordinary paleontological artifacts. It was the venue for the famous 1860s debate on evolution between Thomas Henry Huxley and Bishop Samuel Wilberforce, a pivotal moment that challenged the ideas presented in Charles Darwin's 'On the Origin of Species'. The museum's architecture is a marvel in itself. Its grand Victorian design, with intricate carvings and towering columns, sets the stage for an exploration into the past.
